Pickleball Definition of the Week

The Dink

Ever heard someone say "just dink it!" on the pickleball court? Here's what they mean:

A Dink is a soft, gentle shot that barely clears the net and lands in your opponent's "Non-Volley Zone" (that 7-foot area closest to the net, often called the "kitchen").

Why dink? It forces your opponents to hit the ball up, making it easier for you to hit a winning shot! It's all about control and strategy.
